School of Materials Science and Engineering Invites Experts for Academic Exchange

  Between May and June this year, invited by surface engineering research group of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), professor Varlery Shklover and professor Olga Fabrichnaya from Eidgen?ssische Technische Hochschule Zürich in Switzerland, professor Willem G. Sloof from Delft University of Technology in Netherlands and Dr.Denise Koch from Forschungszentrum Jülich make a visit to BIT respectively for academic exchanges.

With engineering experience, Doctor Denise introduces the core technology of improving the efficiency and loading flexibility of gas turbine and then, talks about its use in thermal barrier coating and characterization methods for the engine.

  To promote mutual understanding and academic cooperation, Liu Ling ,as presentative of surface engineering research group of BIT, introduces the school profile and research status of the group at large. Then many doctoral candidates make academic reports on their research directions and make further discussion with foreign experts.

  Professor Ma Zhuang, leader of the research group, also communicates with experts on project cooperation and students visits, and reaches a tentative agreement on cooperation. In a series of activities, research group reveals the solid academic level and positive attitude, which are highly recognized by foreign experts. This interflow expanded the influence name recognition of research group, laying solid foundation for enhancing further international cooperation.
